If so, how do you fix the problem?

If you're using any 3rd party antivirus/firewall I recommend against it honestly.. the basic Windows one is more than enough in today's world. The rest just eat up your PC resources and throw out false positives more often than not. This is especially true with games because a lot of antivirus programs will be like "OH MY GOD LOOK A DLL FILE! KILL IT!"

There was a big thing at some point with ASUS's motherboard and RGB software causing this error with EAC, i'd check what software you have running in the background.

It's not an AV message the security violation is a EAC error message preventing him from starting the game.

When I checked windows protection history the thing that pops up under the timestamp when I tried to boot the game is labled "Program:Win32/Contebrew.A!ml"

If your AV/Firewall prevents something from running, that thing will usually throw an error along with a message from your AV/Firewall. There was nothing from him stating if it was the AV or EAC or if both popped up. Some programs flat out will just prevent something from running without ever telling you too.

What you're suggesting is that suddenly the motherboard is throwing the error which would be similar, but you're also jumping head first into more advanced problems.

Allowing Program:Win32/Contebrew.A!ml on the comp does nothing.
The game boots up and I see the logos scroll by along with the steam popup in the corner, then the game just closes and says EAC is causing a security violation.

Where is this thing located? Is there any other information? Everything I see on contebrew is it's either adware (safe) or a trojan that you got elsewhere.

Easy anti cheat should be whitelisted in most AV software, if its uptodate.

1)what AV software are you using (and is it uptodate)?
2)What program is it saying is the cause of the message? (how do u know its Easy Anti-cheat?

I'm using windows AV and it says it's up to date.
The window that pops up literally says Easy Anti-Cheat on the top of it's frame.
